Date Sold 1/27/2019Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Magazine Story (measures 10 1/4" x 13 1/4" [26 x 34 cm]; 4 pages) (Learn More) Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (better known as MGM) is an American media company, involved primarily in the production and distribution of films and television programs. MGM was founded in 1924 when Marcus Loew bought Metro Pictures, Goldwyn Pictures Corporation, and Louis B. Mayer Pictures. Important Added Info: Note that this 4-page story was removed from an issue of Life magazine. The story concerns the legendary MGM auction that was held in 1970, where Debbie Reynolds bought massive amounts, with the intent of establishing a Hollywood museum. This article came out after part of the auction was finished, but before it was concluded, and the article pictures many of the items in the auction, and also has a great group shot of 65 MGM stars (and the last page of the article has a "key" to who those stars are in the group photo). There is also an image of Debbie Reynolds, and under it it says that she "hopes to establish a Hollywood Hall of Fame" (see our images). There are three physical pages from the magazine, because the story continues on the back of one of those pages, but the other two backs show ads (so we did not picture those). Condition: good to very good. Learn More about condition grades
