eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 7a132 MOON OVER MIAMI 8x10 transparency 1941 Jack Cole leads Native American Indian dance! Date Sold 6/10/2018Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Photographic Transparency (measures 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm]) (Learn More) Moon Over Miami, the 1941 Walter Lang Florida Everglades romantic musical ("Adaptation by George Seaton and Lynn Starling from a play by Stephen Powys"; "Lyrics and Music by Leo Robin & Ralph Rainger"; about two Texas girls losing an inheritance because of taxes and they travel to Miami to find rich husbands) starring Don Ameche, Betty Grable, Robert Cummings (Bob Cummings), Charlotte Greenwood, Jack Haley, Carole Landis, Cobina Wright Jr., Fortunio Bonanova, and Jack Cole. Note that Alberto Vargas did the artwork for the cover of the pressbook and the 24-sheet only on this movie, and both bear his signature. The pressbook explains that Vargas was commissioned to paint this image. Nowhere does it state that he did any of the other art for the movie, even though one of the one-sheets and the insert are often described as being Vargas art. It is my opinion that they are NOT drawn by Vargas, and certainly the pressbook backs that up. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is a studio-issued transparency that is produced by the studio but is not the camera original. When a smaller format film was originally used, a larger copy transparency was often made by the studio so that retouching could be added and sent out or used for approved publication purposes. The transparency is in a glassine envelope (but we removed it and scanned it, so that bidders could see just how high quality it is). It will be sent to the winner of the auction in the glassine envelope. The glassine envelope has a very large studio-created snipe attached to it that explains about the transparency (see our image). This is a very special auction of 444 extremely rare negatives and transparencies of various sizes. EVERY single one in this auction is either "studio issued" (meaning it was created by the studio and sent to theaters and movie outlets), OR it is a "camera original" (meaning it was the actual negative that was in the camera when the photographer took the picture). Every auction clearly identifies which they are, and there are no items being auctioned that are not either "studio issue" or "camera originals". We have divided them by type and size. Also note that every one of these 444 auctions have had their transparencies and/or negatives scanned expertly. This auction contains that scan with the "eMoviePoster.com" watermark over it. ONLY the winner of this auction will, on request, be sent UNWATERMARKED scan(s) of the items in this auction, which will both save them the time and expense of scanning them themselves, and also allow them to make high quality positive prints of the items they purchased. Condition: very good to fine. The transparency is in nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
