An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Movie Window Card (WC; measures 13 3/4" x 22" [35 x 56 cm]) (Learn More) Men in White, the 1934 Richard Boleslawski hospital medical doctor romantic love triangle melodrama ("Now on the screen! Broadway's biggest current stage sensation!"; about a dedicated young doctor who places his patients above everyone else in his life; based on the play by Sidney Kingsley) starring Clark Gable, Myrna Loy, Jean Hersholt, Elizabeth Allan, and Otto Kruger NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that the card measures very slightly under 14" x 22" (an extremely tiny amount in each direction!) and has no left, right, or bottom blank borders, but it has NOT been trimmed (this was done at a time when MGM was experimenting with having as few borders as possible). Also note that this poster has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the poster was backed onto a heavy paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (except heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards. What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair to good. Prior to paperbacking, the window card had some stains and smudges scattered throughout and the blank top had been trimmed off. There was a diagonal tear in the right border going into Loy's cheek and scratches and scuffs in Allan's cheek and neck at bottom center. Overall, the window card was in fair condition prior to paperbacking. Many years ago, a restorer paperbacked the card and performed restoration to the above defects. It may be that they did not do a good job, or it may be that the card has aged poorly, but you can clearly see that it is heavily restored, so bear this in mind before bidding and look at our super-sized image.
