8 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

Restless Souls, the 1922 Robert Ensminger silent faked murder inheritance romantic love triangle melodrama ("Adapted from the story 'Playing Dead' by Richard Harding Davis"; about a rich man whose wife takes up with another man, and he bizarrely fakes his own death to see what they will do, but then his aunt lays claim to his estate, and his wife's boyfriend romances the aunt instead, thinking that is the way to get the money, but then the man reveals himself and is reconciled with his wife, and the aunt and boyfriend get nothing) starring Earle Williams, Francelia Billington, Arthur Hoyt, Martha Mattox, and Nick Cogley. Note that the movie was based on a story called "Playing Dead", which was obviously named for the fact that the lead character does in fact "play dead", but there is also a scene in the movie where, while he is on the ground playing dead, his dog realizes he is alive and runs up to him. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.

Important Added Info: Note that this is one of 19 complete and incomplete lobby card sets from silent movies that were recently discovered! All of the cards were used to hold sheet music, which was exactly one half the size of a lobby card. So the piano players at silent theaters would fold a lobby card in half and then use it as a holder for the sheet music, which was on thin paper! All of the cards in these 19 sets have been folded in half, and all have the name of a specific movie with some added instructions written on the back of the right half of the card, but the writing does not affect the front, and it is kind of a cool addition to each card!

Condition: very good. All of the cards have been folded in half . Some have some slight separation on the fold and some have some tiny paper loss at the top or bottom (see our image for a better sense of the exact condition of these cards). Other than these defects, the cards are in pretty nice condition, especially considering their age!
