eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result t097 MUMMY movie lobby card #5 R51 cool golden sacophagus image! Date Sold 10/31/2006Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. A 1951 Realart Re-release Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card #5 (measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) The Mummy, the classic 1932 Karl Freund Universal Ancient Egypt romantic monster horror thriller ("It comes to life!"; "The most amazing make-up ever achieved"; "Story by Nina Wilcox Putnam and Richard Schayer") starring Boris Karloff ("The Uncanny"; in the title role as Imhotep the Mummy), Zita Johann, David Manners, Edward Van Sloan, Arthur Byron, Bramwell Fletcher, and Noble Johnson (as The Nubian) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: good. It appears the card was in a frame for many years and that the top and bottom blank borders were covered by a mat, and that the part that was not covered darkened considerably over the years. There are four glue stains (one on the back of each corner) and approximately a dozen very tiny staple holes in the image area, most in the left or right sides, but some near the center. I would think it likely that a talented restorer could greatly bring this card back to life through chemical means, but I have no clue how difficult that might be, or how certain it is that it can be done. So please do not bid on this card expecting that it can surely be restored chemically (if it can, the card will look fantastic, and there will be little paint restoration anywhere on it)! Note that this lobby card has no tape whatsoever on the front or back, and has never had any restoration of any kind! Learn More about condition grades
