8 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

Dark Passage, the 1947 Delmer Daves San Francisco California romantic crime film noir ("Together again!"; "In danger as violent as their love!!!"; "Their crowning achievement together!"; "The hunted become the hunters... As a spectacular Saturday Evening Post serial is brought to the screen!"; "From the Novel by David Goodis"; about a man who was wrongfully convicted of killing his wife, and he escapes from San Quentin and then has plastic surgery to disguise his appearance, and he hitchhikes a ride with beautiful Lauren Bacall, who offers to help him find out who actually killed his wife) starring Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, Bruce Bennett, Agnes Moorehead, Tom D'Andrea, Clifton Young, and Douglas Kennedy. Note that this was the third movie in which Humphrey Bogart co-starred with Lauren Bacall. They first met during the filming of "To Have and Have Not" in 1944, and then were married in 1945. They re-teamed for "The Big Sleep" in 1946, and then made this movie the following year. They teamed again in "Key Largo" in 1948, but they did not make another movie together after that, likely having a lot to do with their having two children.

Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned a complete set of lobby cards from this movie!

Condition: good to very good. The cards range in condition from "good" (for the title card only) to "good to very good" (for two of the scenes) to "very good" (for the remaining five scenes; and some of them are close to "very good to fine"). The title card has clear tape on the back of parts of the borders, and it was framed at one time, and that caused the front edge of each border to discolor, and the back of the card also discolored somewhat. There are smudges in the left center of the title card and pinholes around the edges (including a tiny one in Bogart's forehead), with a scuff mark in the middle of Bacall's hair. As we said, two of the scene cards have some defects that lower them to "good to very good", and the other five are generally in nice condition (although the card with man behind the desk has a pinhole in the middle left). Please look closely at our super-sized images to get a good sense of the condition of all of these cards. Aside from the title card, which has the clear tape on the back, and one of the scenes (the Bogart/Bacall portrait with Bacall in red on the left side of the card) which has two pieces of paper tape on the back (that were not put there for restoration), none of the other cards have any tape or restoration, although four of the cards had some pieces of tape removed from the back of small parts of the borders where they were likely once in a frame. Overall, the seven scene cards display well from the front and most of the defects are on the back, or in the cases mentioned above, are in the borders.
