Condition: good. This poster was linenbacked, but it was either NOT linenbacked by a very talented restorer, OR it was linenbacked many years ago, and has received rough handling over the years, OR it had fairly significant defects that were not restored at all. If it was restored, you can clearly see signs of the restoration even from a distance. This is a poster that would surely benefit from additional professional restoration. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!).

The poster had many tiny tears and tiny areas of paper loss along the right half of the top and bottom foldlines and down much of the vertical foldline. There were pinholes, creases, smudges, and tape stains around the edges. Other than the above defects, the poster was in reasonably good condition. This poster was not linenbacked all that well! If I owned this poster, I would have it re-backed. After re-backing by a talented professional, this poster would look great, and it should not end up having a lot of paint restoration other than a small amount on the foldlines. In any event, please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept its defects, or are willing to pay to have the poster re-restored!
