An Original Vintage Spanish Campaign Book (measures 10 1/4" x 13 1/4" [26 x 34 cm]; 79 pages) (Learn More) Paramount 1927-28, the 1927 Spanish campaign book, sent to theater owners to encourage them to show Paramount movies. The book is filled with 1-page ads for then current Paramount releases (most of which are U.S. movies being released in Spain), and each page has either a montage of images from the movie, or sometimes a single large image, a few of which are artwork, and a few of which are in full-color. Some of the many great stars advertised include Louise Brooks, Clara Bow, Gary Cooper, Harold Lloyd, W.C. Fields, Gloria Swanson, and many, many more. In the back, there is an index to all of the movies advertised within. In 2018, we were consigned this book and one from the following year. Prior to that time, we had only ever auctioned a single Spanish campaign book, which was a Universal one from 1935-36, but other than that, no others. After the discovery of this book, it gives us hope that we will eventually auction Spanish campaign books from other years, but they are clearly incredibly rare! There is discoloration on both covers and some smudges and small stains on some of the interior pages, but most are in pretty nice condition.
