An Original Vintage Theatrical French Movie Campaign Book (measures 9 1/4" x 12 3/4" [23 x 32 cm]; approximately 600 pages) (Learn More) Films Paramount ("Societe Anonyme Francaise des Films Paramount"), the 1928 French Paramount hardcover campaign book. Note that this campaign book is unlike any other I have ever seen (from the U.S. or from any other country)! Paramount had the clever idea of taking the French pressbooks from all 84 of their 1928 and 1929 French releases, and then printing them together into a single hardcover book, and interspersed between the pressbooks are 64 high quality sepia images, 60 of which are of their stars at the time, and 4 of which show other elements of Paramount! These were then bound into a really nice hardcover binding, with the famous Paramount logo on the cover. This means that the owner of the book gets to see ALL of the pressbooks from EIGHTY-FOUR different Paramount French releases, including posters on all of those movies! Of course, it is also quite nice to see the sepia portraits of their top stars, because at this time, Paramount truly was still the number one studio, with the greatest stars. It is interesting to note that Louise Brooks had not yet fallen from grace at Paramount at the time of this book's release, so there is a full page image of her, plus pressbooks for the four movies she appeared in in those two years! Of course, there are also pressbooks from all the other great Paramount releases of those two years, and there is even a great page featuring Koko the Clown emerging from Max Fleischer's inkwell, with Krazy Kat beneath him! This is a really cool HUGE hardcover book! We put images of the front and back covers, plus twelve of the interior two-page spreads (we did not make a big effort to find the best ones!). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: very good. A few of the interior pages are slightly loose and there is some scuffing on the front cover, and a great deal of scuffing on the back cover, but otherwise, the book is in surprisingly nice condition, especially considering it is 82 years old!
