An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Dita Parlo was a German (born in what is now Poland) actress from the 1920s to the 1960s. She had great success in two French movies, "L'Atalante" in 1934 and "La Grande Illusion" in 1937. In 1931, she was brought to the U.S. by Warner Bros., even though she didn't speak English, and after major tutoring, she appeared in "Honor of the Family" with Bebe Daniels. But either the movie wasn't successful or she didn't like the experience, because she returned to Europe soon after. A decade later, she again came to the United States, and was going to be in Orson Welles' version of Joseph Conrad's "Heart of Darkness", but that movie fell through. Some of her other movies include: Justice is Done, Ultimatum, and Men behind Bars. She passed away in 1971 at the age of 63. Condition: very good. There is tiny surface paper loss in the lower left border, but the still is otherwise in pretty nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
