Date Sold 2/7/2016Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Deluxe Theatrical 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Cecil B. DeMille was a legendary director from the 1910s to the 1950s. What makes him so remarkable is that he made some of the very first great movies, including "The Squaw Man" in 1914, but he was one of the only great silent directors to have no trouble transitioning to sound, and he made great movies in the sound era, even into the 1950s! Some of his movies include: The Ten Commandments, The Greatest Show on Earth, and Samson and Delilah. Of course, he also had a memorable acting role in Billy Wilder's "Sunset Boulevard" in 1950 (he did a great job, but it was made easier because he was playing himself!). He passed away in 1959 at the age of 77. Artist: George Hurrell Important Added Info: Note that this still is not dated, but it is a deluxe still printed on double weight paper stock and it has an embossed photographer's stamp in the bottom right for Hurrell, and we think it is from no later than the 1930s, and possibly the 1920s. If anyone knows more about this still, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Condition: good to very good. There is a brown stain in the lower right that extends slightly into the image background (see our image). Otherwise, the still is in nice condition. Learn More about condition grades
