An Original Vintage Unfolded French World War II Poster (measures 29" x 38 3/4" [74 x 98 cm]) (Learn More)

Le Marche Noir est un Crime (literally translates to "The Black Market is a Crime"), the 1943 French World War II (WWII) poster informing citizens that using the black market to purchase goods and food has negative effects on others. Note that this poster features an image of a skeletal hand taking food from a child, and was likely printed by either the Vichy government or the German occupying forces
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this wonderful French war poster. Given that it was printed in the middle of World War II, and likely by the Vichy government or the German occupying forces, it is surely incredibly rare!

Condition: good to very good. The poster has some slight discoloration due to exposure to moisture along a few portions of the lower edge (mostly near the corners). Most of the image is in pretty nice condition., and this is the sort of poster that responds really well to professional restoration. It is likely that much or all of the light staining can be removed through chemical means, after which the poster will look fantastic (although I think some collectors could happily display this great poster on their wall just as it is, because the light staining is not very noticeable being restricted to those small areas).
