An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Rock Baby, Rock It, the 1957 Murray Douglas Sporup musical rock 'n' roll (rock and roll) crime thriller ("The sizzling story of hot rock as you have never seen it before...!"; "Rock with the Calypso hit 'Hey, Juanita'") starring Johnny Carroll (billed as "New Decca Sensation 'Wild, Wild Women' and 'Crazy, Crazy Love'"), Preacher Smith and the Deacons, Cell Block Seven (billed as "Playing up a Storm 'Hot Rock' and 'The Saints Came Rockin In'"), Kay Wheeler (billed as "Queen of Rock n' Roll Doing the Rock n' Bop!"), and The Five Stars (billed as "Doing the New Calypso Hit, 'Hey Juanita'") If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that there is an oddity about this title. It was made in late 1956, and was apparently intended to be distributed by the Freebar Distributing Company in early 1957. It seems likely that someone at RKO made a deal to distribute the movie in late 1956, because posters exist that solely mention Freebar, and there are other posters that have RKO Radio Pictures at the bottom, and on the lobby cards, it looks like that credit was added at the last second. But then, in January 1957, RKO folded, and we imagine the RKO posters and lobby cards were then discarded and more posters were printed that are solely Freebar! There is a similar situation with "The Mysterians", and in that case, there are "RKO" posters, "MGM" posters, and even a few posters with both studios! It is difficult to determine whether RKO or Freebar was the very first release, and we doubt many collectors care about that, but we wanted to give this information, both for those who do care, and also in the hopes that someone who knows more about it will please e-mail us so we can post that information here. Condition: very good. There is tiny paper loss at the top crossfold and a couple of tiny bits of paper loss in the top quarter of the vertical fold. Other than the above, and slight darkening on the back of parts of the folds and the borders, the poster is in really nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
