Steinmeyer Harmonium, the 1910s German advertising poster promoting the purchase of a harmonium from GF Steinmeyer & Co., and featuring artwork of a woman in a flowing dress playing the musical instrument. GF Steinmeyer & Co. was a German manufacturer of organs and harmoniums from 1847 to 2001. A harmonium (also known as a pump organ or melodeon) is a type of free-reed organ that generates sound as air flows past a vibrating piece of thin metal in a frame. More portable than pipe organs, free-reed organs were widely used in smaller churches and in private homes in the 19th century.
Artist: A.F.K.
Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this German poster, which is printed on a heavier weight paper, but it can still be rolled.

Condition: very good. The poster was never folded. It has some slight darkening and a few dot stains around the edges, with some minor border wear. It has a crease near the center in the woman's back. It has two tiny circular holes in the top border, where a string would be placed to allow the poster to be hung. There is staining and paper remnants on the back of the top and bottom borders, where there was once some sort of snipe attached.
