An Original 1960 (from the first release of this movie in Finland) Vintage Theatrical Folded Finnish Movie Poster (measures 16" x 23 1/4" [41 x 59 cm]) (Learn More)

Gluck und Liebe in Monaco (literally translates to "Happiness and Love in Monaco"), the 1959 Hermann Leitner German/Liechtensteiner travelog melodrama (set when Princess Caroline was 2 years old, and an English orphan writes to the royal family and offers her kitten to Caroline as a present, and the royal family invites her to bring the kitten herself, and she travels there in the company of a pretty stewardess, who falls in love with the person who arranged the transfer, and the orphan gets to present the kitten to Caroline, with Prince Rainier and Princess Grace Kelly appearing, and Frank Sinatra is at the palace as their guest, and he appears too!) starring Claus Biederstaedt, Germaine Damar, Gilda Emmanuelli, Gerd Frickhoffer, Frank Sinatra, Grace Kelly, Princess Caroline, and Prince Rainier of Monaco (as themselves!). Note that someone connected with Monaco dreamed up the idea of making a film that would play in theaters, which would serve to encourage tourism to the tiny country. They realized that if they could make it look like an actual movie rather than a travelog, it would play in far more theaters, and they added the orphan and kitten subplot, and also the romantic subplot with the stewardess, to make it into a "faux" actual movie, and they had the cooperation of the royal family, all of whom appeared. But apparently, few theaters had much interest in showing this, and we can't find any sign that it was released in the U.S. in any form. We know it was released in Germany, Austria, and Mexico, because we have auctioned movie paper items from those countries (but those were programs and lobby cards, and we have never auctioned posters at all).

Important Added Info: Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.
