Date Sold 10/18/2015 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. a lot of 1 scrapbook of Jeanette MacDonald. This is a MASSIVE volume! It has 200 pages and measures 11" x 15". It was assembled by a VERY dedicated fan of Jeanette MacDonald as her movies were coming out, and it has lots and lots of pictures cut from newspapers and magazines. But what it ALSO has is a lot of original vintage 8" x 10" stills glued in as well! See our main images to get a sense of just a small amount of what is contained in this huge scrapbook. Of course, Jeanette MacDonald was an actress/singer from the 1920s to the 1940s. She is best remembered for her co-starring roles with Nelson Eddy in opera-like musicals of the 1930s, but she was very entertaining in earlier movies, including the classic "Love Me Tonight", opposite Maurice Chevalier and directed by Ernst Lubitsch! Some of her other movie roles include: The Sun Comes Up, Cairo, and The Merry Widow. Measurements: 11" x 15"Condition: fair to good. The scrapbook itself has aged very poorly, and the scrapbook pages are quite brittle. But most of what was glued into it is in pretty good condition, and the 8x10 stills are in pretty nice condition, but they all have been glued to album pages. One could either trim them out of the scrapbook or a professional or talented amateur could remove the album pages from the back of each photo. In any event, please look carefully at our images to get a sense of the exact condition of the scrapbook, and realize that there is considerable gambling in bidding on this, because you are only seeing a small percentage of it, so only bid on it if you can accept this gamble!
