An Unfolded Dutch Special Poster (measures 16 1/2" x 23 1/2" [42 x 60 cm]) (Learn More) Beter Te Laat Dan Nooit (literally translates to "Better Late than Never"), the 2000s Dutch poster created to educate people about the consequences of HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) which causes AIDS (Acquired ImmunoDeficiency Syndrome) and how to protect themselves from the disease. Note that this poster features an image of Nkosi Johnson, a South African child with HIV/AIDS, who made a powerful impact on public perceptions of the pandemic and its effects before his death at the age of 12. Also, note that when AIDS gripped the world in 1981, local authorities, healthcare providers and governments quickly created health posters as a way to inform people about the new disease. These public health campaigns continued for over 20 years and still endure in some parts of the world today. The posters show the different tactics, images (some quite provocative) and messages used by various countries and health agencies in their attempts to educate people about the AIDS/HIV threat. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good to fine. The poster has never been folded and it is in nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
