eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 6x2286 2nd CHANCE! - ROPE #10/200 18x24 art print 2020 Mondo, twisted arm art by We Buy Your Kids! Date Sold 12/14/2020Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. A Limited Edition Art Print (with art by We Buy Your Kids; 10/200; measures 18" x 24" [46 x 61 cm]) (Learn More) Alfred Hitchcock's Rope (released outside the U.S. as "The Rope"), the classic 1948 Alfred Hitchcock New York City crime murder thriller ("Nothing ever held you like Alfred Hitchcock's ROPE"; "It begins with a shriek, It ends with a shot! From beginning to end nothing ever held you like Alfred Hitchcock's Rope"; "Screen play by Arthur Laurents"; "From the play by Patrick Hamilton"; loosely based on the Leopold/Loeb child murder trial; this movie had a gimmick in that the entire movie took place in what appears to be one extremely long "take"; to me, it just made it seem like watching a stage play, and took away what differentiates a movie from a stage play!) starring James Stewart (Jimmy Stewart), John Dall, Farley Granger, Cedric Hardwicke (billed as "Sir Cedric Hardwicke"), Constance Collier, Joan Chandler, (in her second movie role; one of only three movies she did in her entire career!) Douglas Dick, Dick Hogan, and Edith Evanson. Note that this was Hitchcock's first color film. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: We Buy Your Kids Important Added Info: Note that this art print has been hand-numbered 10/200! IMPORTANT! This is one of 293 "Second Chance Auctions"! What does that mean? Tim League, the consignor of all the prints in the 2,346 auctions (see below), knows that there will be a LOT of competition for some of the prints, and he wanted to give bidders a second chance to get some of the more desirable ones! So, on the 293 auctions that have this paragraph on them, it means that they are prints where there is an earlier auction for a different example of this print (and that earlier auction will have almost surely already ended BEFORE this auction), and this way, those bidders who "missed out" on the earlier example have this second chance to get this different example (but of course, they are not exactly the same, and the earlier example has a lower number)! Please know that 100% of the proceeds from the sale will go towards paying staff of the Alamo Drafthouse and paying debt and expenses accrued during the COVID closures. And eMoviePoster.com has slashed its commission rates, so that we too can do all we can to support this most worthwhile cause. Whether you are a prior collector of Mondo prints or if you have never purchased one of them before, you surely have a movie fan in your life who would like something unique under their Christmas tree this year (or maybe you want to give it to yourself!). Our deepest thanks to everyone who participates in this very special set of 2,346 auctions! Condition: fine. The limited edition art print is in excellent condition! An important note about the condition of the print in this auction (or, in the case of 25 of the auctions, prints). It comes from the personal collection of Tim League, and it has been carefully stored since it was first printed. In the case of all but 46 of the 2,344 of the prints, it is in wonderful condition, and likely looks exactly as it did when it was printed, and we give all those our "fine" grade, which is the highest grade we give (and which equates to most dealers' "mint" grade). In the case of a very small number of the prints (46 in all!), it acquired one or more defects, and in those cases we give it a lower grade, and explain in words what those defects are. If you like purchasing limited edition prints in wonderful condition, THIS is the auction for you! Learn More about condition grades
