Note that this poster features a wild abstract Gunther Kieser image of a musician playing the sax! Karl Georg Gunther Kieser is a German graphic designer and sculptor from the 1940s to the present. He has been known since the 1960s for his poster design for the German Jazz Festival Frankfurt, and the concert agency Lippmann + Rau. He is considered one of the most important German designers of jazz and rock posters. This event was founded in in 1964 and is one of the oldest and the most prestigious jazz festivals in Europe. Martin Luther King Jr. sent a welcome address to the first event in which he stressed the power that jazz music had to strengthen the Civil Rights movement.
