He attained the rank of brigadier general in the United States Air Force and he was the pilot of the B-29 bomber (dubbed "Enola Gay" after the name of Tibbet's mother) that dropped the atomic bomb (codenamed "Little Boy") on Hiroshima, Japan near the end of World War II. Tibbets passed away in 2007 at the age of 92. Important Added Info: Note that this REPRODUCTION still has been personally autographed (signed) by Paul Tibbets!
