A Homemade Movie Poster (measures 14" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More)

Fugitive Road, the 1934 Frank R. Strayer World War I (WWI) romantic love triangle military melodrama (part Grand Hotel and part Casablanca [even though the movie wouldn't be made for eight years more!], this is about an officer who has an affair with his superior's wife, and he is punished by being sent to command an outpost on the Austrian border, where people wanting to leave Austria are being detained because their passports are not in order; Von Stroheim gets involved with a beautiful Russian woman who gets involved with an American gangster ) starring Erich von Stroheim, Wera Engles, Leslie Fenton, George Humbert, Hank Mann, Harry Holman, and Ferdinand Schumann-Heink. Note that we have seen rumors that Erich von Stroheim secretly directed this movie, but that rumor seems to be on every movie that he acted in without directing, so we can't say for sure! If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that first release 1934 movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have only auctioned a single 8x10 still from this movie until we received this homemade poster! A theater that was showing this movie was needing a poster for it, and they apparently wanted one window card sized, because that is the frame they had available, and they had some unknown employee create this homemade poster by cutting up stills and creating a montage, and then adding lettering with a great tagline, and they did so on a heavy stock cardboard, similar to window cards of this period. The person did a nice job, but of course, this is not a studio-issued poster, and it is a one of a kind homemade poster!

Note that because this poster is on a heavy paper stock, it needs to be shipped in a flat package, like window cards.

Condition: very good.
