Note that this was the last movie Preston Sturges wrote before beginning to direct his own scripts, and this movie contains many typical Preston Sturges touches, and is quite delightful! Artist: Richardson Studio Important Added Info: Note that this is one of an amazing collection of 62 linenbacked Australian daybills that all have great art from Richardson Studio (or John Richardson, before he became "Richardson Studio"!), which many collectors feel have the best art and design of any Australian daybills, and are highly sought after by collectors. These were accumulated by a very dedicated collector over many years, and they are now being all offered at once (in 62 separate auctions), so this is a wonderful opportunity to obtain one or many of these daybills, many of which rarely are offered for sale or at auction. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. Someone trimmed the left, right, and top borders, causing the poster to measure 13 1/2" x 36". The poster had some 3 1/2" and smaller tears and some areas of tattering and paper loss around the edges. There were some creases scattered throughout (mostly along the folds and around the edges). Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above.
