An Original 1950 (from the first release of this movie in France) Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked French One-Panel "Grande" Movie Poster (1p; measures 47" x 63" [119 x 160 cm]) (Learn More) L'apocalisse (literally translates to "The Apocalypse"), the 1947 Giuseppe Maria Scotese Italian post World War II (WWII)/contemporary Rome fantasy melodrama (a really cool movie that contrasted the decadence of post World War II Italy with the excesses of Ancient Rome) starring Tullio Carminati, Massimo Serato, Alfredo Varelli, Vera Bergman, and Lilia Landi. Note that this is sadly a lost movie, but it sounds fascinating, and certainly, the only poster we have seen on it, a French poster, makes it all the more interesting! The person who purchased it then had it expertly backed, and while we appear to have only previously auctioned two examples of this French poster, they are the same exact one as this, so it is still the only example of this wonderful poster we have ever auctioned! The poster had small paper loss at some crossfolds and some creases, tears, and tiny paper loss on parts of some folds. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking.
