An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Pressbook (pb; measures 10 1/2" x 15 1/2" [27 x 39 cm]; 20 pages) (Learn More) The Egg Crate Wallop, the 1919 Jerome Storm silent romantic love triangle boxing sports comedy (about a rural young man who builds massive arms loading egg crates onto the train each day, and he is falsely accused of theft, and he goes to the big city, where he ends up in a major prizefight by mistake, but his "egg crate wallop" lets him knock out the professional he is up against, and it wins him his girl too) starring Charles Ray, Colleen Moore, Jack Connolly, J.P. Lockney, George B. Williams, Frederick Moore, and Otto Hoffman. Note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is one of a remarkable group of 21 silent Paramount pressbooks that were in a bound volume. Each was carefully removed, so there is slight paper loss at the spine (and likely the other three borders were slightly trimmed to make them even, but only blank border areas were affected), and otherwise, most of the pressbooks are in really nice condition, although two have cuts, which are of course noted (and of course, the chances of finding these in any condition are very slim!). We are auctioning all 21 of these, in 21 separate auctions. Also note that we have provided an image of the front and back covers of this pressbook (if the back cover is not the poster page, we photographed the interior poster page), and of course, the winner of this auction will receive the entire single pressbook we are auctioning (plus any supplements or heralds described above)! Also note that this pressbook is complete and uncut! Given that theater owners purchased pressbooks partly in order to create their newspaper advertising, and quite frequently cut them up for that purpose, it is rare to find a pressbook that IS complete and uncut! Condition: very good, NO CUTS. The pressbook is complete and uncut. It was removed from a bound volume (see above). There are smudges in the white areas of the cover. Otherwise, the pressbook is in really nice condition, and the pages are not at all fragile. Learn More about condition grades
