An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Six-Sheet Movie Poster (6sh; measures 81" x 81" [206 x 206 cm]) (Learn More) Ghosts on the Loose (released in England as "Ghosts in the Night"), the 1943 William Beaudine teen juvenile delinquent horror comedy starring Bela Lugosi, The East Side Kids (including Leo Gorcey, Huntz Hall, and Bobby Jordan), Stanley Clements, Sunshine Sammy Morrison, Ava Gardner, and Blanche Payson. Note that this was gorgeous Ava Gardner's 14th movie, but she had been uncredited in all previous 13 movies! The makers of this movie gave her a written credit, and there is a small image of her on the one-sheet and three-sheet (but the six-sheet has that small image, plus a much larger image of her). Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this six-sheet, and of course, any Bela Lugosi horror six-sheets are incredibly rare! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had small paper loss at some crossfolds and some creases, tears, and tiny paper loss on parts of some folds. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! It appears that someone used some substance like rubber cement on the back of the bottom and on the back of the left border to attach it to something. There is residue on the back of the linen on those two areas, but it does not affect the front, and the residue is not particularly sticky, and could be rubbed off or removed in a different way.
