An Unfolded Special Poster (measures 16 1/2" x 24 1/2" [42 x 62 cm]) (Learn More) Disneyland (now known as Disneyland Park) is a theme park that was built in Anaheim, California in 1955. It is the only theme park designed and built under the direct supervision of Walt Disney. It was originally the only attraction on the property, but its name was changed to Disneyland Park to distinguish it from the expanding complex in the 1990s. Disneyland has a larger cumulative attendance than any other theme park in the world, with over 650 million guests since it opened. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that in mid-2022 we were consigned a remarkable collection of six Walt Disney posters that were used by employees at theme parks and we had never auctioned any of them before. Each one sold very well. Our consignor had one example each of five of the posters, and a second example of this one poster, and we are auctioning it now, and then we sadly have no more of any of these! The first example of this poster sold for $820 and it was in similar condition to this poster. We think that examples of this poster were posted in employee areas at Disneyland, but that it was also given to employees to commemorate this great new ride opening in 1977 (and it was printed on a higher quality paper than Disney normally used for posters at this time). It has an image we had never seen before until auctioning the previous example! Like the previous six similar posters we auctioned, they came to us from a former Disney employee who took them home after they were used, and he says that they are incredibly rare, and that he has only ever seen a tiny number of similar "employee posters" ever sold or auctioned, and that they sold for very high prices. Surely these are among the most rare Disney posters there are, and they have wonderful different images! Sadly, this is the last one of these we have to auction, so only one more person can purchase this poster and no more. Best of luck to all who bid on this extremely rare poster! Condition: very good to fine. The poster was never folded. It has very light "waves" in it from having been stored rolled for many years.
