An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Belgian Movie Poster (measures 14 1/4" x 18 3/4" [36 x 48 cm]) (Learn More)

I Tre volti Della Paura (released in the U.S. in 1964 as "Black Sabbath"), the 1963 Mario Bava French/Italian/U.S. trilogy-of-three-horror-shorts ("This is the night of the nightmare...the day of the undead! Not since 'Frankenstein' have you seen such horror!"; "When a headless corpse rides the cold night wind!"; "When a woman's soul inhabits the body of a buzzing fly!"; "When vengeance is only a voice!"; "... The most gruesome day in the calendar of the Undead!"; "When vampires suck only blood of those they love the dearest!"; "Not since 'Frankenstein' Have You Seen Such Horror! Every 7 times 70 years... on the 7th day your nightmares come to life. Then terror rides... waiting far night to fall!"; "Black Sabbath ...The most gruesome day in the calendar of the Undead!"; "The Wurdalak", "The Telephone", and "The Drop of Water"; "This is the night of the nightmare... they day of the undead!"; "A story that goes beyond the boundaries of the Supernatural to the half-world of the living dead. Where a woman's soul inhabits a fly's body, where Vengeance is only a voice and where vampires suck only the blood of those they love the dearest.") starring Boris Karloff, Mark Damon, Michele Mercier, Glauco Onorato, and Susy Andersen

Important Added Info: Note that this Belgian poster has a cool addition to it that we have not seen on any other Belgian poster (and we have auctioned two other examples of this poster with the same addition)! What is the addition? The poster was overprinted at the bottom with an ad for Cinzano liquor, and it has their company logo with (translated) "This film is recommended to you by..." above it. We wonder why movie companies all over the world did not come up with this clever form of advertising, because it would have given them a lot of extra revenue!

Note that we have only previously auctioned three examples of this Belgian poster, and only one in the last 10 years! Also note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 14 1/4" x 18 3/4" [36 x 48 cm].

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster originally had a blank top that was neatly trimmed off (this is commonly done with Belgian posters, similar to how the blank top is trimmed off of U.S. window cards). The poster also had small tears and tiny paper loss on the fold, with some partial extra folds. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well!
