Ward"; winner of the Best Picture Academy Award; about a group of con men who swindle a criminal out of a huge amount of money) starring Paul Newman, Robert Redford (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), Robert Shaw, Ray Walston, Charles Durning, Harold Gould, Sally Kirkland, and Robert Earl Jones NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Richard Amsel Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster was never folded in the usual way, but someone once started to lightly fold it down the middle, but someone thought better of it, and there is a partial vertical crease in the top half of the center of the poster. There are some other creases scattered in the image. There are some stains in the right border 1-2" from the right edge. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Note that either the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster, or possibly the owner of the poster chose to carefully trim off the excess, so that the poster would fit in a frame.
