An Unfolded Cuban Special Poster (measures 12" x 15 3/4" [30 x 40 cm]) (Learn More) XXXV Aniversario del Mensaje del Che a los Pueblos del Mundo (literally translates to "35th Anniversary of Che's Message to the Peoples of the World"), the 2002 Cuban poster celebrating the legacy of Che Guevara, and featuring a Leonid Prado collage of images. The poster refers to the "Message to the Tricontinental" which was sent from his jungle camp in Bolivia, to the Tricontinental organization in Havana in the Spring of 1967 (he was killed two months later). Ernesto "Che" Guevara was an Argentine Marxist revolutionary, physician, author, guerrilla leader, diplomat and military theorist. A major figure of the Cuban Revolution, his stylized visage has become a ubiquitous counter-cultural symbol of rebellion and global insignia in popular culture. He was killed in Bolivia in 1967, and remains both a revered and reviled historical figure, polarized in the collective imagination in a multitude of biographies, memoirs, essays, documentaries, songs and films. A photo of him taken by Alberto Korda titled Guerrillero Heroico (Heroic Guerrilla Fighter), has been called "the most famous photograph in the world".
