An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4") (Learn More)

Honor of the Family, the 1931 Lloyd Bacon romantic love triangle melodrama ("Based on the play by Emile Fabre" "From the story by Balzac"; also based on the novel 'Cousin Pons' by Honore de Balzac; like all Balzac stories, a sweeping and complicated story of Hungarian royalty and a rich man has a mistress, and he asks his nephew to protect her from other lovers, and over time, the nephew kills two of the lovers, and at the end, the rich man gives his nephew a blank check and asks him to return with his mistress, but instead, the nephew and the mistress run off together, spending the uncle's money!) starring Bebe Daniels, Warren William (in his third credited role!), Alan Mowbray, Frederick Kerr, and Allan 'Rocky' Lane. Note that Warren William had served in World War I, and afterwards became a Broadway stage actor. He appeared in two silent movies in 1922 and 1923 under his real name of Warren Krech, but he quickly returned to New York and starred in many Broadway plays, aided by his wonderful speaking voice. In 1931, he starred in this, his first sound movie, and he remained in Hollywood, becoming one of Warner Bros.' top stars in the 1930s. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.

Important Added Info: Glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline).

Condition: fine. This glass slide is in really excellent condition, and we feel that EVERY collector would be happy to own it. It IS possible it may have a MINOR defect or defects, but nothing at all significant. But we bet many dealers would call items in this grade "mint" or "near mint"!
