Important Added Info: Note that this is a "country of origin" poster for this partially French movie! Note that the first French release of this movie was through Valoria Films, and they have a credit in the left of the bottom border. There is also a rating in the lower right border saying that people under a certain age will not be admitted. Within a few years after it was first released, the movie was re-released, with posters that DON'T credit Valoria, and don't have a rating. So you can tell the first release posters because they have both the Valoria credit and the rating. However, this gets confusing, because some original posters were reused at a later time, and the distributor had the Valoria credit overprinted with black, and also the rating, but in both cases you can see the original writing through the overprinting. These posters are first release posters that were overprinted and used at a later date. The poster we are currently auctioning IS one of the overprinted posters.

Note that this poster ships in a very long tube (at least 33" long, but possibly 50" long or more). Therefore the shipping for this poster will be more than that for a poster that ships in a tube 32" or shorter, and possibly much more. Please bear this added shipping expense in mind before bidding on this poster. You can tell how long of a tube this poster needs to ship in by looking at the shorter dimension of its length and width and then adding 4" to that (so a 47" x 63" poster will need to ship in a 51" long tube).
What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at some crossfolds and some tiny tears and tiny bits of paper loss on parts of some folds. It had pinholes around the edges. Its distributor credit at lower left and its rating at lower right were overprinted when the poster was reused (see above). Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. After the poster was backed, it was damaged during shipping, and it acquired creases and tiny paper loss in the top left of Deneuve's hair, right at the edge below the black background. A restorer repaired this by adding a small square of linen to the back of that area and then touching up the front. None of the above is very noticeable or distracting, and the poster will display well on the new owner's wall, but bear all of the above in mind before bidding on this poster.
