An Original 1955 (from the first release of this movie in Italy) Vintage Theatrical Folded Italian Locandina Movie Poster (measures 12 3/4" x 23 3/4" [32 x 60 cm]) (Learn More) Ladies of the Chorus, the 1948 Phil Karlson romantic chorus girl musical ("The love secrets of the Ladies Of The Chorus"; "See the dollies from the follies turn the bluebloods into redbloods!"; "Screenplay by Harry Sauber and Joseph Carole"; "It's most revealing... what burlesque babes will do to get their man!") starring Adele Jergens, Marilyn Monroe (very young in this role!), Rand Brooks, Nana Bryant, Eddie Garr, Steven Geray, and The Bobby True Trio NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that Marilyn Monroe had been pretty unknown when this movie was first released in 1948, and was barely promoted in any way on the original movie paper. In 1952, at the height of her popularity, this movie was re-released in the U.S., giving her huge billing over the title. Three years later in Italy, it was released for the first time with a one-panel poster with incredible art of Marilyn by Angelo Cesselon which we auctioned in 2015. Now we have been consigned this wonderful locandina with different images of her which we have never auctioned before! Note also that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 12 3/4" x 23 3/4" [32 x 60 cm]. Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good to very good. The poster originally had a blank top that was neatly trimmed off (similar to how the blank top is trimmed off of Belgian posters and U.S. window cards). It has several creases scattered in various areas and it has slightly darkened. It has a few tiny tears along portions of the lower blank border that have been repaired with tape from the back. The rare poster is otherwise in pretty nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
