Death Takes a Holiday, the 1934 Mitchell Leisen romantic afterlife fantasy melodrama ("Men feared him -- Women adored him"; adapted from the play by Alberto Casella; a very interesting story of the literal Death deciding to visit the Earth and discover why people fear him so, and while he is on Earth in human form, everyone stops dying, and of course, he falls in love, and the girl, not knowing who he is, wants to go with him when he returns to his ethereal home!) starring Fredric March (in the title role as "Death"/Prince Sirki), Evelyn Venable, Guy Standing (billed as "Sir Guy Standing"), Kent Taylor, Henry Travers, and Kathleen Howard

Important Added Info: Note that this pressbook is incredibly rare! We have only auctioned it twice before. Both times we auctioned it before, it contained a "tipped-in" large 4-page 11" x 15" newspaper style herald, which is a "faux" newspaper showing what would happen when there are no deaths in the world. BUT THIS ONE IS EVEN BETTER! Why? Because not only does it have that same herald, it actually has two examples of it, and both have a letter "to managers" attached, explaining how great the herald works in selling the picture. In addition, there are two examples of a "sample window card", which measures 11" x 16 1/2", and is printed on a thin quality paper, which has the heading "DEATH TAKES A HOLIDAY!" and then has a large picture of a smashed car, with solely information underneath it about how no one was hurt (with room for play dates at the bottom). See our images of both the sample herald and the sample window card, and remember that there are TWO of each included!

Condition: very good, NO CUTS. The first exploitation page (with newspaper articles) has a 10" tear down the center (it is newsprint). Some of the tab areas at the bottom of the pressbook have tears and small paper loss. Otherwise, the many parts of this pressbook are in nice condition!
