7 Original Vintage Theatrical Canadian Movie Lobby Cards (measure 11" x 14") (Learn More)

I See a Dark Stranger (released in the U.S. in 1947 as "The Adventuress"), the 1946 Frank Launder English World War II (WWII) spy espionage thriller ("The woman hunt is on... For the girl with the little black book!"; "'He's after the girl!' with the little black book!"; "Kerr rhymes with star - Time Magazine"; about an Irish woman who hates England so much she becomes a Nazi Spy), starring Deborah Kerr ("*You'll love her... you'll love her brogue!"), Trevor Howard, Raymond Huntley, Michael Howard, Norman Shelley, and Liam Redmond. Note that when this movie was released in the U.S. in 1947, it was re-titled "The Adventuress", with a large head shot of redheaded Deborah Kerr!

Important Added Info: Note that these Canadian lobby cards have a very funny defect! Someone did not know Trevor Howard's name, and so he was billed on these cards as "Trevor Holland"! After the error was caught, they did not reprint the cards, but instead pasted little snipes with his correct name over the mistaken name. I wonder if someone was fired over this one! Also note that in the 1940s, most movies made in England were released in Canada. Some were released with U.S. lobby cards, others had English lobby cards, and others had an unusual "photolobby" type set (sometimes black & white, and sometimes two or three color, always on a thinner paper stock similar to that of stills). The set of seven cards offered here is from this Canadian set.

Condition: fine.
