An Original Vintage Linenbacked Special Poster (measures 18" x 24 1/4") (Learn More) The Boy Scouts of America (also known as simply the Boy Scouts) is one of the largest scouting organizations and one of the largest youth organizations in the United States. The BSA was founded in 1910, and since then, about 110 million Americans have participated in BSA programs. BSA is part of the international Scout Movement and became a founding member organization of the World Organization of the Scout Movement in 1922. The stated mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to "prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law." If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. The poster was likely once taped to a wall with diagonal pieces of tape in each corner, for there is diagonal surface paper loss in the corners, with tiny actual paper loss in the left corners. At some other time, it was thumb tacked to the wall with three on each side of the poster, for there are thumbtack holes and circular stains around them in those six places. The poster was once folded across the middle and there were creases along that fold. There are some faint scuffs in the black background areas and a few smudges in the lower middle right border area. There are a few smudges and stains throughout the background areas. At some point, someone mounted it on to a very thin linen backing, and did no restoration whatsoever. I could well imagine anyone displaying this great poster just as it is, but it is also certain that any talented restorer could easily re-back it, and after proper restoration to the above minor defects, the poster will look great!
