An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28") (Learn More) The Kid From Spain, the 1932 Leo McCarey romantic musical comedy (featuring choreography by Busby Berkeley; about two college friends who get kicked out of school and go to Mexico where they have many adventures, and meet great Spanish bullfighter Eddie Cantor!) starring Eddie Cantor, Lyda Roberti and The Goldwyn Girls (who included then-unknown Jane Wyman, Toby Wing, Betty Grable, and Paulette Goddard), Noah Beery Sr., Robert Young, J. Carrol Naish, Grace Poggi (a Spanish dancer discovered by Samuel Goldwyn, who does a rumba in the film that is said to be "good for rheumatic and tired old business men"!), and Sidney Franklin (an American matador, as himself). Note that Busby Berkeley's assistant on the movie was Fred Zinnemann, who would go on to great fame as a great director of some of the best movies of all time! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that although Eddie Cantor received huge billing on this movie (even bigger than the title!), the poster designers were wise enough to realize that the sexy "Goldwyn Girls" would be better at selling the movie, and so this poster has all sexy girls and a bull, and no Eddie Cantor! Also note that this poster has been paperbacked. Note that because this poster was paperbacked onto a thicker paper backing, it CAN'T be sent rolled (someone could conceivably roll it or try to do so, but we think it would almost certainly damage it, so we will only send it in a large flat package, unless the buyer insists, and then they would be responsible for any damage). What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. Prior to paperbacking, the poster had many stains and smudges scattered throughout, with some scattered nail holes, and many tears in the right of the credits box (mostly in the background, but extending into the bottom of the "N" of "GOLDWYN"). Apparently, this poster was also just too sexy for the theater that used it, and they put red censor paint on the girl at left's chest, stomach, and legs, creating a crude "dress" on her! Overall, the poster was in fair condition prior to paperbacking. The poster was nicely backed by a really talented restorer, and it looks and displays great, although it clearly has a "restored" look, especially in the solid colored areas, and in the body of the girl who had been censored.
