An Original Vintage Walt Disney's Snow White Scrap Book (measures 10 3/4" x 15 1/2"; 38 pages) (Learn More) Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the classic 1937 David Hand Walt Disney animated animation family romantic fairy-tale fantasy musical cartoon ("His first full length feature production"; "In the Marvelous Multiplane Technicolor"; "Behold The Miracle of the Movies! Coming to amaze you, charm you, thrill you!"; "With Eight new songs as catching as 'The Big Bad Wolf.'"; "To thrill you"; "Merriment!"; "Melody!"; "Magic!"; "The dwarfs sing their marching song on the way to work."; "Walt Disney's first full length feature production"; "The show sensation of the generation!"; "Wondrously filmed in all the glories of the marvelous multiplane Technicolor"; "The Screen's Supreme Thrill! 1,000 artists worked three years to give you this once-in-a-lifetime show!... A full hour and a half of the most enthralling entertainment you ever experienced... truly the miracle in motion pictures!") featuring the voices of Adriana Caselotti (in the title role as Snow White), Harry Stockwell (as the Prince), Lucille La Verne, Moroni Olsen, and Stuart Buchanan. Note that this movie is always referred to as a "1937" movie, but it actually only had a limited opening in December 1937 (no doubt to qualify for the Oscars), and then it had its wide opening in February 1938. But because it is always referred to as being from 1937, we refer to it that way as well (and of course, it is technically correct). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Gustaf Tenggren Important Added Info: This scrapbook was created by the man who consigned all of the great items described below (he created it when he was a little boy, because after he saw Snow White, he was "hooked", and he started cutting out everything he could find on this movie from the newspaper and magazines, and pasting them into this scrapbook! It contains 32 pages that have many items glued onto them (he used a flour and water "paste" that his grandmother made for him), and there are some blank pages on the end. After he got all the Snow White items he could find, he filled 4 pages with items from the Fleischer Bros. "Gulliver's Travels", and two more pages with items from "Dumbo". Note that this item, along with many others, has a wonderful provenance! It comes from a remarkable collection of original 1940s Walt Disney pressbooks, mini lobby cards, and standees that just surfaced! Not only are all of these items extremely rare ones that are hardly ever auctioned, but they almost all are in really nice condition. The origin of these items is even more fascinating. Our consignor attended these movies as a young boy (he is currently over 80!), and a kindly theater owner gave him these items, and he has carefully preserved them all these many years, until now, when he has consigned them directly to us! We previously auctioned the original stills he had in our auction in May of 2016, and now we are auctioning the rest of his items. This is an incredibly rare opportunity to obtain some of the finest Disney pressbooks, mini lobby cards, and standees we have ever seen, and all of them will have new owners when these auctions close, because all start at $1 with no reserve. In addition to the items from this man's collection (saved from when it was a little boy over 70 years ago!), we also gathered together lots of other rare animation related movie paper items of all types, and together this is a wonderful offering of movie animation items! Many of these items will likely not be auctioned again for many years to come! Condition: fair to good. The scrapbook has seen better days. It has tears and some tape stains around the edges of the covers. The interior pages have tears around the edges. Many of the items that were pasted in have darkened and there are stains where the items were pasted in. See our many images to get a sense of the condition of this scrapbook and the items it contains. Learn More about condition grades
