Date Sold 3/17/2022Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. A LAMINATED Special Poster (measures 25" x 74 1/2" [64 x 189 cm]) (Learn More) The Lone Ranger, the 1956 Stuart Heisler masked hero cowboy western ("Hi-Yo Silver!"; "Thunders to the motion picture screen!"; "America's Beloved Masked Rider and his Faithful Indian Companion, Tonto in a Blazing New Story!"; "The Lone Ranger (and Tonto too!!!)"; "It's all new! His first feature-length picture -- in WarnerColor"; "First time on the big, wide motion picture screen!"; "Surging across America's vast badland in the most challenging undercover mission of his career!"; adapted from the classic TV show that starred the same actors) starring Clayton Moore (in the title role as The Lone Ranger; "The Lone Ranger Himself"), Jay Silverheels (as the Native American Indian Tonto; "Tonto Himself"), Lyle Bettger, Bonita Granville, Perry Lopez, Beverly Washburn, and Silver (the horse) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster was advertised on boxes of Wheaties cereal, and you could either get one poster for 35 cents and two Wheaties box tops (or 50 cents plus three Wheaties box tops for both posters) to receive them by mail! The only writing on the two that we have auctioned before (one like this and one features Jay Silverheels) is a tiny "A11640 c TLR Printed in U.S.A." on the Lone Ranger, and "A11641 c TLR Printed in U.S.A." on the Tonto. While we are sure many kids ordered these, we would think the vast majority of them were taped or tacked to walls and ended up being destroyed! In this auction, we are the Lone Ranger poster. Note also that this poster has been laminated. It is quite likely that there is no way to reverse this process. However, I have seen many posters and lobby cards that have been laminated for over 20 years, and the lamination does not hurt the items in any way (and some of the posters were laminated as much as 40 years ago, so it certainly seems that if it were going to damage the item, it would have happened by now!), plus it seems to completely protect them, while allowing them to be easily displayed with no fear of damage. HOWEVER, PLEASE DO NOT BID ON THIS POSTER UNLESS YOU WANT TO PURCHASE A LAMINATED ITEM! Condition: fair to good. The poster has been laminated (see our image and above). It had tape stains, creases, defects, areas of paper loss and tears of varying lengths along parts of some edges (partially repaired with tape from the back) and several creases scattered throughout with some patches of discoloration. Please see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this laminated poster prior to placing a bid and please do not bid unless you can accept the defects described above AND YOU WANT TO PURCHASE A LAMINATED POSTER.
