An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie 7 3/4" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Key Book Still (Learn More) Secrets of the Night, the 1924 Herbert Blanche silent romantic love triangle murder mystery comedy ("A Universal Jewel on Carl Laemmle's White List"; "'It's up to you - - you got us into this trouble!"; "'My husband's jealousy of you is becoming unbearable.'"; a plot that was likely old, even by 1924, where a man who works at a bank can't let the records be seen by a bank examiner, because he made a secret loan, so he has a big party where he stages his own murder, and then everybody is a suspect, but when the man he made the loan to repays it, he reappears, and admits that he had tricked them all!) starring James Kirkwood, Madge Bellamy, Tom Ricketts, Tom Guise, Arthur Stuart Hill, and Zasu Pitts. Note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this still is unlike almost all key book stills we have ever seen (we had two like it from "Flesh and the Devil", and some collectors have told us they have seen a few like them as well)! Not only does it have an image of nine great still images joined together, but it also has full credits and a complete plot summary printed on the back! It is glued to a linen-like backing (it originally had an extra 1" on the left with two punch holes, but that area was trimmed away). Apparently this was something that was done beginning in 1924, and we had thought that it was a very brief experiment, but now we have seen another one from 1936, so we know it continued for at least ten years, but they are really incredibly rare and really cool! Condition: fair to good. The left 1" was neatly trimmed off (see above). There are two long rough creases in the top center of the card that run down diagonally to the left. There is a tape repair, tiny paper loss, and some smudges scattered around the edges. Learn More about condition grades
