An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Ben Turpin was a cross-eyed comedian from the 1900s to the 1940s. He is best remembered for his work in Saps at Sea, The Champion, Yankee Doodle in Berlin, The Love Parade, and His New Job. He passed away in 1940 at the age of 70. Important Added Info: Note that this still has two punch holes in the top border, so it could be a key book still, or someone could have just put those punch holes there. Note that this still likely has a stamp on the back in the form of a diamond that has the letters "TRR". One certainly might wonder who placed this stamp there and why. The answer is that 146 of the stills in this set of auctions come to us from a still collector who has collected for many decades, and long ago he began stamping the back of almost his stills with this stamp, and "TRR" is his initials! We said earlier "likely has", because while this collector stamped most of his stills, he did not stamp every one, so you can see for yourself if this is one of the stamped ones by looking at our image of the back of the still. Each of those stamped stills are stamped lightly, and the stamp does NOT affect the front of the still. He is a VERY advanced collector, and he has consigned many wonderful stills to us! Condition: good. There are two punch holes in the top border (see above), with some tiny paper loss around those punch holes. There is a repaired tear in the center of the left border. There is faint scuffing scattered in the emulsion, but it is mostly only noticeable when the still is tilted to the light. Learn More about condition grades
