An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Pressbook (pb; measures 13" x 19" [33 x 48 cm]; 12 pages) (Learn More) Irving Berlin's White Christmas, the classic 1954 Michael Curtiz post-World War II sisters holiday singing-and-dancing romantic musical (with classic "Lyrics and music by Irving Berlin"; "The most fabulous music-and-mirth show in motion picture history!"; "Joyous entertainment for every season, any year!!!!") starring Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney, Vera-Ellen, and Dean Jagger. Note that this was the first motion picture to be filmed in VistaVision! Also note that the title song "White Christmas" was first introduced in 1942 in the Fred Astaire/Bing Crosby movie "Holiday Inn", and it proved to be so popular that this movie was made, utilizing part of the plot of that earlier film, and reusing this song, which was now over a decade old, but it proved to be an even greater hit! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have never auctioned this pressbook before (although we have auctioned the general release pressbook). Because this pressbook is spiral-bound and has a full-color back cover (sadly, the front cover is missing, so we don't know, but it was likely full-color as well), and because it has information about promoting the movie for the Christmas season, we believe that this is the pressbook from the very first limited release of this movie in October 1954, and that the other pressbook is from when the movie went into wide release. The posters on the back cover of this pressbook have differences from those of the general release pressbook, and we don't know that any of these posters survive, but they can be seen in color here, and of course, the back cover could be framed and enjoyed. Note that we have provided an image of the front and back covers of this pressbook (if the back cover is not the poster page, we photographed the interior poster page), and of course, the winner of this auction will receive the entire single pressbook we are auctioning (plus any supplements or heralds described above)! Condition: fair, WITH CUTS. Only the back cover and 12 of the interior pages are present. We don't know how many pages it originally had, because we have never auctioned this before (see above).
