An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Rain or Shine, the 1930 Frank Capra circus inheritance romantic comedy ("The laugh sensation of the season!"; "A Comedy Cyclone of Circus Life"; "Adapted from the Play by James Gleason and Maurice Marks"; about a woman whose father owns a circus, and then he dies, and she inherits it and has great trouble keeping it going) starring Joe Cook, Louise Fazenda, Joan Peers, William Collier Jr., and Tom Howard. Note that this was Frank Capra's last comedy of this sort, a throwback to his days writing for Harry Langdon. It has much in common with W.C. Fields' "You Can't Cheat an Honest Man", including a scene where the circus performers wreck a fancy dinner party with their antics. Also note that Joe Cook was a vaudeville juggler and performer who, in 1930, at the age of 40, was signed by Columbia to recreate one of his vaudeville routines, and he appeared in a total of 8 movies, and he had the starring role in "Arizona Mahoney" in 1936, and in this one, but his other six roles were in shorts.
