Artist: Fred Fixler Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been personally autographed (signed) by writer Richard Matheson! Our consignor is a longtime collector who purchased this signed item from a reputable dealer. He does not have a certificate of authenticity, but given that we can't imagine someone would fake a signature on a collectible poster like this, we believe the signature is surely authentic. Note that the art on this poster has many times been falsely attributed to poster artist Reynold Brown (and also the art on the "Pit and the Pendulum" posters) on several websites (including ours!). However, a collector has now informed us the actual artist is Fred Fixler (born Nandor Lipschitz), who was a successful Hungarian illustrator, and that artist has the original art from his posters for both these movies on his website. Since none of his poster art was signed, he could also have created several other posters that have been mistakenly credited as Reynold Brown art, and this could help solve the mystery of the artist whose work looks like Reynold Brown, but isn't Reynold Brown! As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes.
