Date Sold 10/4/2015Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 8 Original Vintage Theatrical Deluxe 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Stills (Learn More) Mr. Whitney Had a Notion, the 1949 Gerald Mayer historical biographical melodrama short (about the invention of the cotton gin) starring Lloyd Bridges (in the title role as Eli Whitney), Erville Alderson (as Thomas Jefferson), Howard Negley, Harry Hayden, and Mitchell Lewis NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that all of these stills are reference set photos. All of them have a visible clapboard in the image that gives the details about the movie. The studios would use these images for reference if they needed to shoot additional footage at a later time after the set was taken down. What is really great about some of these stills is that they have people pictured in them (most set reference photos rarely ever have anyone pictured in them, especially actors)! All of the stills have "RETURN TO PROPERTY DEPT." stamped on the back! Some are stamped on front "RENTALS" and have printing on the back describing the equipment rented and from the company that it was rented from! Note also that these are deluxe stills printed on double weight paper stock. Condition: good to very good. Each has three punch holes in the upper edge (they were likely stored in a binder, typical of set reference stills.) Some are stamped at lower right "RENTALS" (see above) and each has writing on some edges. Learn More about condition grades
