An Art Print (with art by Maxfield Parrish; measures 18" x 30" [46 x 76 cm] and must be sent in a flat package - see below) (Learn More)

Maxfield Parrish was an American painter and illustrator active in the first half of the 20th Century. He is known for his distinctive saturated hues and idealized neo-classic imagery. Prints of his paintings sold hundreds of thousands of copies, and he did calendars for Edison-Mazda Lamps, which were incredibly popular. He passed away in 1966 at the age of 95.
Artist: Maxfield Parrish
Important Added Info: Note that Daybreak was inspired by the landscape of Vermont and New Hampshire. It is regarded as one of the most popular art prints of the 20th century, and it is estimated that there was one for every four American homes. Also note that this print has "The House of Art N.Y." printed at lower left. We have been told that it likely dates to the 1920s, but it could be from a later edition, and we are not 100% certain of its exact date. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here and please do not bid if you are uncomfortable with this uncertainty. Finally note that this art print is fragile and cannot be rolled, so it will need to be sent in a very large flat package and please bear this added expense in mind before bidding on this item.

Condition: good. The print was stored on or framed with cardboard behind it and it has acquired a pattern on the back. It has light rippling, but there is heavier rippling and discoloration along the lower edge. It appears to be clipped diagonally in the corners, but it may have been designed that way to fit a wooden frame (or it could have been trimmed at a later time). Please see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this art print prior to placing a bid.
