Fields & Mae West) starring Mae West, W.C. Fields, Joseph Calleia, Dick Foran, Donald Meek, Anne Nagel, Fuzzy Knight, Margaret Hamilton, Ruth Donnelly, and Jackie Searl (as the Boy). Note that this was the only movie that these two legends appeared in together, and naturally, it was a battle of wills between them, with each wanting a bigger part (which was intensified because they wrote the script together!). This movie has some of the most legendary comic scenes ever, including Fields in a poker game, "romancing" Mae West, etc. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. This means the poster was backed onto a light paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (it means that the poster must be handled carefully, as the backing does not give it much added strength, but it is similar to having an unrestored poster, and yet it has been properly preserved). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards. What IS paperbacking? Prior to paperbacking, the poster had creases, tears, and surface paper loss on both foldlines and creases, tears, and stains around the edges, with much staining scattered in the central title and credits area (but much less staining in the figures of the stars. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to paperbacking. The poster was paperbacked, many years ago, and the person who did it only attempted to restore some of the defects, and the restoration paint they used had discolored to a bright white over the years, and is quite noticeable. If I owned this poster, I would surely immediately have a talented restorer remove it from the old paper backing, and have it properly bleached and re-backed. It might require fairly extensive restoration in the borders, title, and credits area, but very little in the images of the stars, and after proper restoration, the poster will display great, but please read our description above and look at our super-sized image before placing a bid on this poster.
