An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

The Butter and Egg Man, the 1928 Richard Wallace silent New York City stage acting theater romantic comedy ("From play by George S. Kaufman" [sic]; "A new Comedy by George S. Kaufman"; about a hotel clerk from Ohio who buys the rights to a play from a shady New York producer; the producer thought it was the worst play ever and couldn't possibly succeed, but the young man gets a beautiful actress to star in it, and against all odds it becomes a giant hit, and the young man sells it back to the producer, and goes back to Ohio with his leading lady, who is now his wife) starring Jack Mulhall, Greta Nissen, Sam Hardy, William Demarest, and Gertrude Astor. Note that there are great parallels between this story and "The Producers"! We wonder if Mel Brooks was inspired to write that based on having seen a version of this play or movie.

Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper items from this movie are incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned a few window cards from this movie (and NO other movie paper) until we received this lobby card! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Condition: good to very good. There are several rough creases and a small tear in the left of the top border that slightly affect the top of the orange area, and someone repaired the tear with tape from the back. The card also has a few pinholes and faint smudges around the edges. Otherwise, the card is in pretty nice condition!
