The American Magazine, the 1906-1956 magazine (apparently like modern day People Magazine, but including complete novels in some issues). The magazine was originally founded in 1876 by Frank Leslie under the title "Frank Leslie's Popular Monthly", but went through a series of name changes until 1906. Some notable contributors to the magazine include: John Barrymore, Agatha Christie, Arthur Conan Doyle, Zane Grey, and Franklin D. Roosevelt
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that Joseph Dinneen was a writer who warned about the threat Nazi Germany posed to America from at least 1937 (and possibly earlier). This poster has a great ad for an article by Mr. Dinneen, with an image of a swastika, but we couldn't find out exactly when it was published. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that this special poster was distributed to news stands and stores that sold magazines to place in their windows to tell their customers that they sold The American Magazine! Also note that this special poster is printed on a heavyweight paper stock like that used on window cards, but it measures 11" x 16".

Condition: good to very good.
