He was known as "the dean of American Frontier painters". Some of his works include: Buffalo Bull Grazing, The Cutting Scene, Bell-play Dance, and Tipis. Catlin passed away in 1872 at the age of 76. Important Added Info: Note that this is George Catlin's "North American Indian Portfolio", which contains "six magnificent color plates of the Old West". They were originally printed in 1840, and we think the portfolio was published in the 1970s. If anyone knows more about this portfolio, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
