An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

The Navigator, the 1924 Donald Crisp & Buster Keaton silent seafaring sailor romantic comedy (about a sailor and a pretty girl trapped on an abandoned ship, trying to get home) starring Buster Keaton, Frederick Vroom, Kathryn McGuire, Donald Crisp, and Noble Johnson (as the chief of the cannibals!). Note that this is surely one of Buster Keaton's finest movies! It would seem that the gags would get repetitive with the two actors alone on a ship, and yet Keaton continually comes up with new clever comedy that does not feel repetitive, and is very, very funny!

Important Added Info: Note that ANY first release U.S. movie paper items from this movie are incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned a different scene card (where Keaton is floating in the diving suit, so you don't see his face, and that card had paper loss around the edges) and two stills from this movie (and NO other first release U.S. movie paper) until we received this second lobby card! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Condition: good to very good. The card was folded down the middle, and there are creases down that fold. There was separation in the bottom 5" of the fold and in the top 3", and someone put clear tape on the back of those areas. The middle of the right blank border is a different color than the rest of the blank border, surely because something was on top of it that prevented that part of the blank border from darkening. There is some darkening in the rest of the borders and in the top and bottom of the center of the card. The card display better than the above description makes it sound, as you can see from our super-sized image. It can certainly be displayed as it is, or one might choose to have restoration performed, but either way, the new owner of this card will have a wonderful lobby card to display on their wall!
